Undervoice and the Remixes

Sep 17, 2008 in Javas, Releases

As we enter this Fall 08 calendar year and with the current economic crisis in the US, it is more then ever vital that we keep producing music for our legions of supporters and that we get the support of those fans in purchases and downloads. At less then a dollar US per song these days, it is not much to pay for a DRM-free, unrestricted copy of your favorite House music or dance track from our growing list of artists.

For your attention, may we recommend the latest from our artist Javas: UNDERVOICE. Available in two flavors (the original and the remix pack), this track sets the tone for a more eclectic and organic set of tracks from Javas on this label.

For more information about Javas or any other artist, visit our artist’s roster page or our website.

Rise and take notice of Breeze’s upcoming LP

Jul 31, 2008 in Breeze, News, Releases

breezeandundahdub.jpgLast night, we hosted a small listening party for our staff and a couple of our artists to demo and check out the upcoming 10-track LP from Breeze entitled “Rise“. Scheduled for release on Harlem Station Recordings on September 16th 2008, this compilation floored everyone in attendance. Let me repeat it again: We were all floored.

The depth, the story, the eclectic productions, the diverse featured artists and prducers, Breeze’s vocals, raps and even cough, all come together to create this gumbo, this “sauce picante” that takes the listener through an odissey of sounds and musical experiences and never lets go until the very last breath.

Tracks with titles like “In the Beginning”, “Desobey”, “Beast” and “Don’t Wanna Lose You” set the first half of the LP in a bouncy, evolving and groovy tone. With a quick sonic interlude that litterally props you up, the second half of the LP shoots straight up in beats, tribalism, groove and dance factor with such tracks as “The Future”, “Slutty Pooh”, “Afro Boogie” and more, just to name a few. This journey never lets go of its grip on your music senses and delivers a well rounded, solidly anchored and well rounded LP.

It became difficult during the recording of this LP to decide which of the tracks would get the single and remix treatment. After the listening party last night, we are no closer to a decision because all the tracks are phenomenally strong on their own and could easily be the source of many diverse remix packs.  One thing is for sure, there WILL be remixes, both on Harlem Station Recordings and our sister label Decibel NYC Recordings.

Stay tuned for the release of the promos for this LP as well as exclusive release dates with some of our disctributors. For more information, visit our website.

HSR Summer 08 Release Schedule

May 26, 2008 in News, Releases

After a hiatus of almost 5 months (which focused on updating a lot of our management infrastructure and hiring 2 new managers), HSR is preparing two new releases that rest solely on two artists from sister record label Decibel NYC.

First, Fuze delivers a stirring funky number “Pocketful of Funk“, accompanied by a few interesting mixes from soon to be announced new roster additions.

Then there is Javas, our brother from the Czech Republic, who delivers a haunting vocal hymn over soulful rolling beats in the titled track Undervoice. This release features an ruckus remix by the duo of Identity Crisis who has been in the studio trying their best to lighten the load of projects and remixes that they’ve let accumulate over the last 6 months. Work is a priority all round the Harlem base.

Before the end of the year, our brother in the struggle from Florida, CRX makes his debut release on Harlem Station Recordings with the upcoming track Phat Boyz. Stay tuned as more information become available.

Music is Coming At Ya

Jun 01, 2007 in Releases

It is official: Quentin Harris has agreed to remix the HSR upcoming release “In The Beginning” by Breeze.  We’re breathing a sign of relief!  Quentin is known for always keeping his plate full with remix projects, djing around the world on the regular and generally not having the time for last minute projects.  This time, we got the money man!

The following are the upcoming releases being redied for distribution: IDC – Down Here, CJ Burken – Kefilta Fish EP, Breeze – In The Beginning, IDC – Chocolate Puma EP.  In what order they’ll be released, time only will tell cuz we like to drop the boombastic albums when we think the world is ready for them.  No advance requests.  No begging for my preview copy.  Straight up gansta schedule!
