Rise and take notice of Breeze’s upcoming LP
Jul 31, 2008 in Breeze, News, Releases
Last night, we hosted a small listening party for our staff and a couple of our artists to demo and check out the upcoming 10-track LP from Breeze entitled “Rise“. Scheduled for release on Harlem Station Recordings on September 16th 2008, this compilation floored everyone in attendance. Let me repeat it again: We were all floored.
The depth, the story, the eclectic productions, the diverse featured artists and prducers, Breeze’s vocals, raps and even cough, all come together to create this gumbo, this “sauce picante” that takes the listener through an odissey of sounds and musical experiences and never lets go until the very last breath.
Tracks with titles like “In the Beginning”, “Desobey”, “Beast” and “Don’t Wanna Lose You” set the first half of the LP in a bouncy, evolving and groovy tone. With a quick sonic interlude that litterally props you up, the second half of the LP shoots straight up in beats, tribalism, groove and dance factor with such tracks as “The Future”, “Slutty Pooh”, “Afro Boogie” and more, just to name a few. This journey never lets go of its grip on your music senses and delivers a well rounded, solidly anchored and well rounded LP.
It became difficult during the recording of this LP to decide which of the tracks would get the single and remix treatment. After the listening party last night, we are no closer to a decision because all the tracks are phenomenally strong on their own and could easily be the source of many diverse remix packs. One thing is for sure, there WILL be remixes, both on Harlem Station Recordings and our sister label Decibel NYC Recordings.
Stay tuned for the release of the promos for this LP as well as exclusive release dates with some of our disctributors. For more information, visit our website.
